23 Years of Professional IT Experience
Elliott began his career in IT in 1996. In 2001, he joined the engineering department at PegaSystems. In 2003, he left PegaSystems to move to Colorado, but even before he left, PegaSystems hired him back as a contractor, to lead the development of a project in Denver and flying back to Cambridge to train customers and Pega staff.
Since then, he has become the longest-tenured independent Pega contractor in the world. He is unusual in technology, with equal passion for technology and teaching. His focus is twofold:
- setting projects on the right track, by starting them or by rescuing projects that have gone off the rails
- enabling teams to take over his responsibilities
He succeeds when he is no longer needed. As he puts it
"I'm always working to get fired."
In addition to Pega development and architecture, his technological experience includes development in Java, C/C++, data modelling/DB development, installation/upgrade/administration of Pega and an "alphabet soup" of other technologies.
Elliott lives with his wife and two small children in a village on the Pacific coast of Mexico. He is a US citizen, a native English speaker and competent in Spanish.
